Approaching the next hurdle

On to making a pattern, I am sure this is how Yves St. Laurent started out

Yes, I thought so - do you see the roll of grease proof paper?
Ok so we may be a little of our depth here, never mind, it never stopped us before!

Bobbins wound and the sewing is about to start

and......
Just saying

Getting into our stride

Warped and chic?

Starting to get somewhere - plaidtastic

dyeing some samples requires very small amounts of dye!
I don't know if we feel like mad scientists or drug dealers!!

And we're off

Colours have been chosen

So the dye pot has been simmering away

Some felting has been planned and trialed

And some beautiful Merino fluff has been transformed

At the starting gate

Hi
We are Warped Chic and we are excited to be part of the Group Runway Challenge 2017
We are members of the Malvern Spinners and Weavers group, based in Darfield about 40km west of Christchurch
We have dabbled in various fibery techniques but don't have any previous experience in designing and creating a whole outfit from scratch, so, we have a lot to learn but we are up for the challenge!

The planning is underway, we have been researching the theme and thinking about the materials and techniques that we would like to include

Lots of notes have been made and we have started to think about making some samples and nailing down a colour scheme

We are starting with a bit of felting practice

Out comes half of the stash and we have an afternoon of fun
